Editorial Independence

Privéa Voyage editorial scores and rankings are determined entirely by our editorial team and are not influenced by commercial relationships, advertising spend, or booking commissions. A hotel cannot pay to improve its score, suppress a review, or influence placement in our guides.

We earn revenue through affiliate booking links. When you click a link and make a booking, we may receive a commission from the booking partner. This commercial relationship exists, but it does not influence editorial scores. A property ranked #1 in a guide is there because it earned that position on our scoring framework — not because it generates the highest commission.

Scoring Methodology

Editorial scores are assigned on a 10-point scale using a 40-point weighted framework across eight dimensions:

• Accommodation quality (25%) — room size, design, finishes, bedding, technology, in-villa amenities • Setting & beach (20%) — beach quality, lagoon clarity, privacy, natural environment • Dining (15%) — number of restaurants, quality of cuisine, wine programme, breakfast inclusion • Wellness (10%) — spa size and quality, treatment menu, fitness facilities • Service (15%) — staff-to-guest ratio, response times, personalisation, butler availability • Activities (5%) — on-property and excursion programme breadth • Value at tier (5%) — price relative to comparable properties in the same destination • Overall experience (5%) — subjective holistic assessment

Scores are reviewed annually and updated when material changes occur (major renovations, change of management, significant price changes).

Price Verification

Prices shown in our guides are verified at time of publication by checking the hotel's official booking channels and major OTA platforms. Prices reflect standard rack rates for the most popular room category in peak season unless otherwise stated.

We display a "Verified" date on all price displays. Prices are typically re-verified quarterly. When we cannot confirm a current rate, we indicate this clearly rather than presenting stale data as fact.

Prices shown are indicative only. Final prices are subject to availability, seasonal variation, currency fluctuation, and local taxes. Always verify the current rate before booking.

Research Standards

Our research process combines editorial team stays, verified guest reviews from major platforms (cross-referenced for authenticity), direct communication with properties, and ongoing monitoring of industry press.

We do not accept complimentary stays in exchange for positive coverage. When editorial team members stay at properties under review, stays are paid for by Privéa Voyage or disclosed as hosted with a clear notation in the guide.

We do not publish press releases as editorial content. Information sourced from hotel marketing materials is verified independently before being included in guides.

Updates & Corrections

We update guides when material information changes — new facilities open, prices change significantly, a property closes for renovation, or we receive credible evidence that a score no longer reflects the current product.

If you believe a guide contains an error, please contact our editorial team at editorial@priveavoyage.com. We will investigate and update or issue a correction within 5 working days if the error is confirmed.
